What behaviors can hypnosis change?

From smoking cessation to phobias, weight loss to stress reduction, building self-confidence to achieving personal goals, hypnosis by a trained professional helps most people gain control over self-imposed obstacles holding them back.

How long does it take?

Each session is about an hour. Generally, a series of three-to-eight hypnosis appointments with Paula, followed by home practice self-hypnosis sessions, are needed to change behaviors. Practice at home and a series of one-on-one appointments helps to clear your path from obstacles, to keep you moving ahead and gain the behavioral freedom you seek.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes. All people with normal or above intelligence can be hypnotized. However, no one can be hypnotized against his/her will, nor can he or she be made to do anything you don’t want to do. Paula provides a simple and easy demonstration at your first meeting that determines if you are a good candidate for hypnosis.

How do I begin?

You will be asked to complete a confidential health and wellness profile in advance of your first visit. Your profile requests information about your health, current prescriptions and medications, as well as a complete a listing of the behaviors you would like to overcome.

You and Paula will then sit down for a complimentary consultation to discuss your goals and answer your questions. This initial meeting will likely last less than an hour, helping her determine whether you are a good candidate for hypnosis and together, agreeing on a plan of action.

Then what?

You will sit in a comfortable chair in a soothing, slightly darkened room with Paula. She will make sure you are relaxed and comfortable. With your consent and when you are ready, Paula will ask you to close your eyes and invite you to picture some places and images as she speaks. Paula may make suggestions appropriate to the behaviors you are seeking to change.

Contrary to what you may have seen on television, those who are hypnotized are fully awake and are focusing their attention on positive, empowering suggestions. You remain in control of your body and thoughts during the entire session.
